Living conditions at Rzeszów universities.

a) The Rzeszów University of Technology campus includes 7 students hostels : Akapit, Alchemik, Arcus, Ikar, Nestor, Pingwin and Promień. Ali the hostels are well-furnished and well-equipped. Ali the hostels are equipped with internal and external telephone communication systems, Internet and television access. There are also gyms, canteens, game rooms and shops. Ali the rooms have internal and extemal telephone communication systems, cable television (6 channels), an Internet and local computer network access. Moreover, the university campus offers : playgrounds, sport halls, a well-equipped computer, which is available for all the students, gyrns, a car park for 250 cars and more than ten buses. There is a students health center ’Medyk’ and a nightclub ’Plus’. The safety of the residing students is guaranteed through monitoring the facilities and providing a professional security service.

b) The University of Rzeszów secures 2392 places in 6 students hostels inciuding single rooms and for students staying with families. The rules of dividing places are defined in the statute of providing and offering financial help for students of the University of Rzeszów. The places are divided every year for the period of 9 months on the student’s application. The priority is given to those students, who have difficulties with commuting to university or to those with financial problems. • Studenfs Hostel ’Laura’ It is a 10-storey building with rooms for 2 and 3, altogether for 825 students. One unit consists of 2 rooms for 2, 2 rooms for 3, 2 halls, a toilet and a shower. There is 1 common kitchen on each floor. Rooms overlooking the river and the city. There are : a shop, payphones, 2 laundries, xero, television room and an Internet cafó. • Student’s Hostel ’Filon’ It is a 10-storey building with rooms for 2 and 3, altogether for 825 students. One unit consists of 2 rooms for 2, 2 rooms for 3,2 halls, a toilet and a shower. There is 1 common kitchen on each floor. Rooms overlooking the river and the city. There are : a shop, payphones, 2 laundries, xero, television room and an Internet cafe.

• The group of students’ Homes in Zalesie consists of Students’ Hostel ’Merkury’ and Students’ Hostel ’Hilton’ Students’ Hostel ’Merkury’ It is a 4-storey building with rooms for 2 and 3 in units with a bathroom and kitchen, altogether for 360 students. There is 1 common kitchen on each floor. There is also a gym. There are payphones and drink machines as well as laundries, a television room and self-study rooms. Students’ Hostel ’Hilton’ It is a 4-storey building with rooms for 2 and 3 in units with a bathroom and kitchen, altogether for 360 students. There is 1 common kitchen on each floor. There are payphones and drink machines as well as laundries, a television room and self-study rooms. There is an Internet cafe.

In front of the hostels there are car parks, street basketball playgrounds and a tennis court.

• Students’ Hostel ’Olimp’ It is a 4-storey building, rooms for 3, altogether for 312 students. There is also 1 common krtchen and bathroom on each floor. There are : xero, television room, self-study room and payphones. • The students’ Home in Werynia It is a 3-storey building with rooms for 2 and 4. One unit consists of 2 rooms for 2,2 halls, a toilet and a shower. Students living in rooms for 4 have a common toilet and shower on each floor. There is also 1 common kitchen on each floor. Rooms overlooking a monumental pałace and early XX- century park.

The Umversity of Information Technology and Management and Rzeszów School of Business have no students’ hostels. Students studying at these schools use the hostels of other universities, boarding-schools or private flats.
